Year 11 Innovative Solutions

Our Year 11 Innovative Solutions students have been busy developing their skills in problem-solving, design and technology as they work on projects aimed at addressing real-world challenges.

As part of their projects, students have been challenged to develop innovative digital solutions that help address one of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This has encouraged students to think beyond the classroom and consider how technology can be used to make a positive difference in our community and the wider world.

Students have researched a range of global issues, identified problems and opportunities, and then worked through the process of planning, designing, developing, testing and evaluating their solutions. They have had to consider the needs of their intended users and how their ideas could provide a meaningful and sustainable solution.

It has been fantastic to see the creativity and diversity of ideas within the class. Students are tackling a range of issues and demonstrating that innovation is not simply about having a great idea — it is about identifying a genuine need, developing a solution and continually refining it to make it better.

The projects have also provided students with valuable skills in critical thinking, communication, project management, problem-solving and perseverance, while allowing them to apply their technology knowledge to authentic, real-world challenges.
