Cornershop Carnival
The 2026 CornerShop Carnival delivered an electric atmosphere of pure joy, high energy, and community spirit! It was a triumphant culmination of months of dedication by our Year 12 Vocational Major (VM) cohort, exceeding every expectation.
Mother Nature brought her game too, putting on a sparkling show of sunshine and clear blue skies as 36 bustling stalls transformed the front of the school into a sea of vibrant colour and activity. The day's massive success reflected the incredible pride, strategic planning, and hustle our students brought to every stage of the event.
Alongside returning fan favourites - like the dual pull-up bar challenge, crowd-pleasing karaoke, and the iconic Dunk Tank - this year upped the ante with new stalls including delicious fresh waffles, ice-cold mocktails, and a bustling photo booth. Student engagement was through the roof all day and carried right through after hours as families and local community members joined the festivities.
Bringing an event of this magnitude to life takes a village, and we are overflowing with gratitude for our incredible community: Endless thanks to Ivan's Pies for donating 300 delicious mini baked goods, Woolworths, and the Morgan family for once again donating T-shirt transfer paper, equipment, and their valuable time.
A huge shoutout to some of our Year 11 VM students who ran the popcorn and slushie machines like pros and kept order at the Dunk Tank! Major props to every single courageous teacher who voluntarily took a plunge into the freezing Dunk Tank waters.
Big thanks to staff who crossed the faculty divide and gave their time and, in some cases, equipment! Eric, Jenny, Ash, Usher, Candy and Judy.
While this was a true team effort across the entire VM sub-school, our brilliant and unstoppable Sub-School Leader, Kellie Lindemann, was the driving force behind it. Kellie isn't just the creative genius powering the event; she is the ultimate example of a leader who rolls up her sleeves and works shoulder-to-shoulder on the ground to bring a vision to life.
The CornerShop Carnival is a shining example of what happens when staff, students, and our wider community rally behind a shared goal. Together, we raised a staggering $6,200!
