German Luncheon

2025 German Luncheon

The German day in the city was an incredible experience. Students from a wide range of Year levels went to the Melbourne City on Thursday 7th August and visited the ACMI museum and the Hofbräuhaus in Market Lane.

We started off at the Heathmont train station, and we rode the train to Flinders Street Station. We met up at Federation Square, where we participated in a German scavenger hunt (Schatzsuche) on the city and museum.

At ACMI, we observed many forms of television and film. From the bases of the incredible claymation movie, “Memoir of a Snail,” to ways in the past people viewed movies from different types of shows. Even smaller exhibitions, like the incredible spinning Cuphead animation and the ancient tribal outfit, were found awesome by all the students.

At the Hofbräuhaus, everyone shared long tables and chatted and dined together. Everyone had fun - and we all left with full bellies!

Overall the experience was incredible. We all loved to have a day out, and explore the city with each other. It was enriching and fun, and we all hope to go again next year.
