Year 6 Transition Day

On the 7th of October, I visited the year 6 cohort at Marlborough Primary School and ran a short workshop with the kids around the big transition from year 6 to year 7. I spoke about ways to get out of your comfort zone and make new friends; students were able to ask any questions they had about high school and we also played a few fun games.
My main aim was to make sure students knew it is ok to be nervous about going High school and provide students with a few tips and tricks when going through this transition. To gather all my information, I ran focus groups with our current year 7s and sent out a google form, which helped me to figure out what I should include in the workshop. I also worked with Maroondah youth to put the workshop together and figure out how it was going to run.
I would like to thank everybody who filled out the google docks or was involved in any focus groups. I would also like to thank Maroondah Youth for all their support when making this workshop.
