Ed in Faith - By Helna

In Ed in Faith, 5/6’s  we're learning about baptism and baptismal symbols, the 5/6's were also learning  about  the importance of being included in the catholic community and what is the reason for baptism. We were talking about how it feels when we join a new community like the church, what feelings you have and what emotions do you feel when you are participating in the community. We are also learning the fruits of the holy spirit  and how we see them in people. Some year 6’s have been preparing for confirmation.

Inquiry - By Luka & Gianni

This term for Inquiry we have been learning about Indigenous Australians and how a boat full of civilians came from Britain to Australia and invaded the Indigenous Peoples and killed many of them. It was a tragic and unfair fight. The criminals had guns and the Indigenous Australians had spears and axes. The land that we live on today was their original land that got taken over by the British.

Writing - By Victoria

In the past 3 weeks, we have been preparing for our big writes, which involved writing a letter to our teachers (or Ma’am’s) from our costume school at camp. The letter to Ma’m would be written five years after attending the school, and it would be about how our lives have changed since then.

Our letters to Ma’m had to be historically accurate an realistic. We could not use contractions (like I’m or Aren’t) because they were not used back in the 1850’s.

It was really interesting to put all the knowledge we had from camp into our letters, now we will put our letters into Canva and make them look real!

Regards,

Mr Will & Miss Yvette
