Year 8G Materials (Woodwork)

Year 8G Materials (Woodwork) students demonstrated strong growth in their practical woodworking skills and technical capabilities through the safe and effective use of a range of hand and power tools, including the Pedestal drill, Tenon saws, Coping saws, Hand drills, Disc sanders, and the Dremel.
Students applied these skills in the design and construction of a Wooden Acrobat, a traditional mechanical “squeeze toy” that uses a simple frame-and-string mechanism to create flipping and somersaulting movements. As part of the project, students followed the design process by researching existing acrobat toys, generating and refining design ideas, and then constructing their final product.
