Wearable Technology Fashion Parade

Wearable Technology Fashion Parade

Students from Years 7–9 have enthusiastically volunteered to participate in the Wearable Technology Fashion Parade, dedicating several break times each week to designing and constructing original garments in collaborative teams.

Working within a futuristic theme, students have followed the design process from initial research and inspiration gathering through to the development of innovative fashion concepts. Their designs are not only intended for the catwalk but also incorporate interactive technological elements that bring their creations to life. As the project progresses, students will explore a range of wearable technology techniques, including sewing LEDs into fabric using conductive thread and programming light sequences with the BBC micro:bit.

Through this hands-on experience, students are developing creativity, collaboration, problem-solving, and digital technology skills while gaining insight into the exciting intersection of fashion, design, engineering, and technology.

This project also introduces students to emerging industries and future career pathways, highlighting how innovation and creativity can combine to create opportunities in a rapidly evolving world.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               Ms. Veena Nair & Ms. Natalie Conti                                                                                                                    Wearable Technologies Teachers
