Team Spirit is Our Competitive Edge

FUTSAL

Nine of our Year 7 and 8 students represented the College at Futsal last Wednesday.  We played 5 games while trying to qualify for the semi finals.  Our first game was against the eventual overall winners, Santa Maria College.  This was a difficult game and we lost 4 -0.

Our girls rallied for our second game of the day which was against Avila, but  lost 3-1.  The third game saw the girls pull off a last minute draw against Sacred Heart Oakleigh, with Eleni K (Year 8) scoring 2 goals.  In our fourth game, our girls drew again with Sacred Heart Geelong, 1-1, with Olivia N (Year 7) scoring the equaliser.

With a quirk in the fixture seeing us play Santa Maria again, our girls were up to the task, coming back from 2-0 down to score with a few minutes left.  We had some great chances to equalise in the final stages but it wasn't to be, losing to the eventual winners, but showing them that the gap between them and us was closing!  Our girls had a great time and while they didn't qualify for the semi finals this year, they are already looking forward to next year's competition.
