Arrive and Thrive Incursion Day

Welcome to Nossal and the Journey Ahead

Camps and Pathways Week 2026 kicked off with Arrive and Thrive, a dedicated incursion day designed especially for our Year 10 and Year 11 students. More than just an introduction to the week, this day was crafted to help students feel welcomed, connected, and inspired as they continue their journey at Nossal and begin thinking more deeply about the path ahead.

RYDA Road Safety Education

A centrepiece of the day was the RYDA Road Safety Education program, a nationally recognised and highly regarded program that goes well beyond the standard road safety message. 

Through a series of engaging, interactive, and thought-provoking sessions, students explored the real-world consequences of decisions made behind the wheel and as passengers. RYDA's approach is grounded in the understanding that young people are among the most vulnerable road users, and that awareness, responsibility, and good decision-making can save lives.

Students came away from the session with a deeper appreciation of how quickly circumstances can change on the road, and how the choices they make, now and in the years ahead, have real and lasting consequences for themselves and those around them. It was a powerful, memorable experience that resonated well beyond the classroom.

Tyson Day — Designing a Life That Fits

The day also featured an inspiring session with Arrive and Thrive guest speaker Tyson Day, Career Counsellor, whose message struck a chord with students from the very start. Tyson's philosophy is simple but profound: everyone deserves the opportunity to design a career and a life that genuinely aligns with their values. His work is built on the belief that when people understand who they are and what matters most to them, they are far better equipped to make confident, purposeful choices about their future.

Through his workshops, Tyson guided students through reflective activities and conversations designed to help them grow as individuals, develop self-awareness, and build the kind of positive social connections that support long-term wellbeing and success. His sessions were engaging, warm, and genuinely impactful, encouraging students to think not just about what they want to do, but about who they want to become.

For many students, this was a timely reminder that career planning is not simply about choosing a job, it is about designing a life. That message, delivered on the very first day of Camps and Pathways Week, set a meaningful and inspiring tone for everything that followed.
