Year 7 Black Ranges Basketball

Tuesday 2nd September a team of very keen and eager Year 7 boys made the trip to Ararat to compete in the Black Range Basketball Competition.

The boys won all their pool matches against HTLC and St Brigid’s College which then qualified them to compete in the Final against Marion College.

The final was very exciting, both teams played some awesome basketball but unfortunately for the HC Boys they came up short by 1 point, Marion scoring their winning basket in the final 15 seconds of the match, well done to both team for putting on such a high-quality game of basketball it was a pleasure to watch and thanks to Ms Hiscock for taking time out away from school to coach the boys.

NETBALL VICTORIA STATE TITLES

Congratulations to our Year 7 and Year 8 Netball teams who travelled down to Melbourne Monday to compete in the Netball Victoria State Titles on Tuesday 9th September.

The teams qualified to compete against the best schools in Victoria after they both won the Hamilton round of games.

Year 7 team came away with one win out of their five games which was an amazing effort, their biggest loosing margin was 5 goals and most of their opposition were girls in Year 8.

Year 8 girls were more than competitive in their five pool games, unfortunately they could not come away with a win, but they were super impressive and very unlucky, they lost three of their games by one goal.

Thanks to Mrs Rowe and Ms Hiscock for coaching and Jason for driving the bus, getting the girls there and back safely.

Horsham College are very lucky to have staff with amazing knowledge and abilities of all sports who give up their time to provide our students with incredible opportunities to play next level school sport against the best private and public schools in Victoria.

Well done to you all and good luck to our students who are playing finals, they can now move their focus to representing their respective clubs over the next few weeks.
