Parent Teacher Interviews – 17th September

Parent Teacher Interviews will be held next Wednesday between 11am and 6.00pm.

This is an important part of our school calendar, and I would encourage as many parents as possible to attend.  In particular, I encourage parents/carers for students completing Year 12 VCE to come to the sessions and talk with teachers about how student support can be provided as they prepare for the end of year exams.

To book

  1. Go to www.schoolinterviews.com.au  and enter the code: vhsp5
  2. Enter your details.
  3. Select the teachers you wish to see.
  4. Select the appointment time that suits your family best.

RU OK Day 8th September

RU OK Day was held on 8th September. The day reminds us of all of the importance and power of checking in on our friends and family and those we learn and work beside to ensure they are “OK”.  Those few words can mean a massive amount to someone who might be doing it tough, it helps an individual to understand that someone is interested in their wellbeing, and cares about them.

Updated Policies

A number of policies were recently reviewed and approved at our School Council meeting in August.  These are set out below. Policies can be accessed via the School Website or by request at the Administration Office.

  • Academic Expectations & Redemptions Policy
    • Acceleration Process
    • Glancy Trust Policy & Guidelines
    • Preventing and Addressing Racism Policy
    • Student Dress Code Policy
    • Complaints Policy
    • Acceptable Use Agreement
    • Personal Property Policy

As always, we welcome any feedback..

School Contributions

I would like to take this time to remind families about voluntary curriculum contributions for 2025. The College Council and School Leadership team are extremely proud to be able to continue to provide a high-quality education and experience to our students at a low cost, and we want to assure you that all contributions are voluntary. However, while Victorian schools provide students with free instruction to fulfil the delivery of the standard Victorian curriculum, it is also true that without these contributions we would not be able to offer the broad range of subjects we do.

These funds go directly towards covering the cost of materials associated with your child’s learning,  including those for Science, Home Economics and Technology subjects.

The nominated voluntary amounts for students in 2025 are:

Years 7-9              $330

Years 10-12           $355

If you are happy and able to contribute, payments can be made using the QKR app, or in person at the Administration Office.

Be Sun Smart – Hat Reminder

A reminder that we are a Sun Smart school and hats must be worn in Term 4.  Please make sure you know where your school hat is and have it ready for day one next term.

Last Day

The last day of Term 3 is Friday September 19th, and it is a 2:30pm finish. I wish everyone a wonderful and safe break.
