Interim Reports
This week students received their Term 3 interim reports. The purpose of these reports is to provide information about the learning skills that your child demonstrates in the classroom. This includes skills such as personal organisation, work completion and remaining on task. Students and parents are encouraged to reflect on these interim reports and discuss areas for growth and improvement moving into term 4. With parent teacher interviews happening next week, this will also be a great opportunity to meet with teachers to discuss the report and how your child is progressing in the classroom.
Parent teacher interviews will be held next Wednesday the 17th of September. Parents, you can now book interviews with your child’s teachers. This is a great opportunity to meet your child’s teachers in person and ask any questions you may have about your child’s education. We hope to see you all there! If you are unable to make an appointment with your child’s teacher, you are always welcome to contact them via email, direct message (SEQTA) or via phone to gain further information about their progress.
A reminder for all Year 7 students that hats are a requirement for term 4. If students have their hats at home, they will need to be brought back to school for term 4. If students are needing a new hat, they can purchase one from the front office.
For the past month Year 7 students have been participating swimming during their PE lessons. During this time the effort and behaviour shown by students at Horsham Aquatic Centre has been fantastic! Thank you to all students who have participated in this program.
We want to celebrate the achievements of 2 students for consistently demonstrating our college values. These students were awarded a canteen voucher each for being valuable members of our Year 7 community. Congratulations to Jett Hill and Harry Bolwell for their achievements.
Students in 7F recently made Shake ‘n’ Bake Chicken with Cous Cous and Vegetables in Home Economics with Mrs O’Connor. Their goal was to learn to prepare and cook food items while preventing cross contamination and measuring the temperature of food, so it is safe to eat. The chicken looked delicious!
Our Year 11 PE students are conducting an exciting study exploring whether meeting the national guidelines for physical activity can be supported through active travel to school.
As part of this project, we will trial a new system called “Tag On.” This system allows students to quickly scan in each morning and record how they travelled to school—by bike, walk, car, or bus.
The aim is to see if using Tag On can help motivate more students to choose active travel options, such as walking or cycling, and increase overall physical activity levels.
Active travel brings many benefits, including:
Health and fitness – builds strength, improves concentration, and boosts energy.
Wellbeing – reduces stress and supports a positive mindset for learning.
Social connections – gives students a chance to walk or ride with friends.
Data collection and completion for Yr 7 & 8 students will take place during week 8 & 9 of Term 3 and week 1 & 2 of Term 4.
We are encouraging all students to have a go at Active Transport on some or all days of the week during the 4 week period, it can be ‘Part Way’ for those living a long distance from school.
There are some great prizes for individuals and Form Groups.
