At our most recent assembly we acknowledged some students who have been doing some fantastic work in their classes. Congratulations to the Jazz Hopper and Lily Ward who received a $5 canteen voucher for receiving the most amount of student values and consistent school attendance.
We were also able to celebrate student Cooper Inkster, who last week rushed to the aid of an elderly lady who had fallen at a street crossing outside of the school. Cooper showed our college value of ‘Care’ in assisting the lady until an ambulance arrived. Fantastic work Cooper!
A big congratulations to Ellie Schmidt who was awarded our most recent ‘HAWK’ award. Ellie receives this award for achieving 100% attendance, gaining numerous college values and consistently applying herself in classes since our last Yr 8 assembly.
Our Year 11 PE students are conducting an exciting study exploring whether meeting the national guidelines for physical activity can be supported through active travel to school.
As part of this project, we will trial a new system called “Tag On.” This system allows students to quickly scan in each morning and record how they travelled to school—by bike, walk, car, or bus.
The aim is to see if using Tag On can help motivate more students to choose active travel options, such as walking or cycling, and increase overall physical activity levels.
Active travel brings many benefits, including:
Health and fitness – builds strength, improves concentration, and boosts energy.
Wellbeing – reduces stress and supports a positive mindset for learning.
Social connections – gives students a chance to walk or ride with friends.
Data collection and completion for Yr 7 & 8 students will take place during week 8 & 9 of Term 3 and week 1 & 2 of Term 4.
We are encouraging all students to have a go at Active Transport on some or all days of the week during the 4 week period, it can be ‘Part Way’ for those living a long distance from school.
There are some great prizes for individuals and Form Groups.
Interim Reports have been released this week to students and families. This is a great opportunity for students to reflect on their progress in their subjects for term 3. Parents/Guardians are encouraged to sit down with their Child to discuss their interim report in the lead up to Parent Teacher Interviews, which will be held next Wednesday the 17th September.
Details for booking interviews with teachers can be found below. We look forward to seeing parents of our students next week to discuss their progress
A reminder to all students and parents, that as per the department of education policy, students are NOT to have phones with them during the times of 8.50am and 3.20pm, unless for medical or other approved circumstances. If students are spotted with their phones they will be issued with an After School Detention.
Students are reminded to keep them locked safely within their assigned locker to avoid using or damaging them. If students need to contact you they can come to the office to make contact. If students do not have a lock on their locker, they need to get one! This is their responsibility in keeping all items safe and secure.
Thanks for your understanding.
