Year 3 - Creative Arts 

Year 3 students are diving into the world of collagraphy which is an exciting printmaking technique that turns everyday materials into incredible masterworks.

Named in the 1950s from the Greek words for "glue" and "drawing," collagraphy is all about texture. Students have made their own custom printing plates by gluing cardboard onto a base. Once these plates are inked and pressed onto paper, they reveal highly tactile, one-of-a-kind prints! It is amazing to see how simple, layered materials can transform into stunning fine art. 

Year 6 and Kindergarten Perfecting Procedure Writing

Our Year 6 students teamed up with Kindergarten last week as part of their literacy learning on procedural texts. 

The challenge? To clearly and accurately explain each step for making the ultimate Aussie treat, fairy bread! 

Using sequencing words, clear instructions and teamwork, our Year 6 students put their communication skills to the test while our Kindergarten students listened carefully and followed each step.

From spreading the butter to adding a sprinkle of hundreds and thousands, everyone enjoyed creating and eating their delicious treat at the end!

Year 2 Information Reports

Year 2 were excited to welcome Senior Constable Jones from Narrabri Police for a special visit. He spoke to the students about his uniform, the equipment he carries to help keep our community safe, the different roles within the NSW Police Force, and how he trained to become a police officer. Our Year 2 students asked lots of thoughtful questions and enjoyed learning about his job.

After the visit, the students used what they had learned to write informative reports about police officers.
