Term 2, Week 11

Dear St Francis Xavier's Parents and Carers,
Parent Teacher Interviews
Connecting home and school is one of the most powerful ways we can support our students, which is why we are so excited to welcome you all to our Parent-Teacher Interviews running throughout this week.
These short conversations are a wonderful opportunity to celebrate your child’s successes, discuss their academic and social-emotional growth, and set collaborative goals for the remainder of the year. Thank you for your ongoing partnership, your insights, and your dedication to making our school a thriving community. We look forward to seeing you around school this week!
Athletics Carnival
What an incredible day we had last Friday! The sun was shining, the team chants were echoing across the field, and our annual Athletics Carnival was a resounding success.
From the absolute determination in the 100m sprints to the sheer joy of the teacher novelty race, it was wonderful to see our students giving their absolute best, cheering on their peers, and demonstrating outstanding sportsmanship. A massive thank you to all the parents, carers, and volunteers who came out to support, cook lunches, and cheer from the sidelines!! While every house put up a spectacular fight and showed immense pride, we have tallied the points from all track, field, and spirit events.
Please join us in giving a massive congratulations to this year’s Champions:
JOSEPH!
Grandparents Day
Our school community was filled with an extra dose of warmth and joy last Thursday as we celebrated our annual Grandparents and Special Friends Day. It was an absolute privilege to welcome so many beloved faces into our classrooms and school grounds.
The morning kicked off with a shared morning tea with students and families, followed by a beautiful special assembly where our students showcased their musical talents, shared heartfelt poetry, and expressed just how much their grandparents and mentors mean to them. Seeing the proud smiles in the audience was truly the highlight of our week.
Pyjama Day on Friday
This Friday, July 3rd, students are invited to leave their school uniforms in the cupboard and head to school in their comfiest pyjamas for our Pyjama Day!
While we love a cozy day at school, this event has a very important purpose. We are raising vital funds and awareness for the St Vincent de Paul Society (Vinnies) Winter Appeal, supporting families in our local community who are doing it tough and facing homelessness this winter.
Footwear: For safety on the playground, please ensure your child wears regular closed-toe school shoes or sneakers (no slippers, thongs or Crocs, please!)
Bring: A gold coin donation.
Every Dollar Counts: A simple gold coin donation helps Vinnies provide warm meals, blankets, and crisis accommodation to those who need it most during these freezing winter months.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and school spirit. Let’s get cozy for a great cause!
First day of Term 3
Term 3 Starts for students on Wednesday, July 22nd. We hope you all enjoy a wonderful, restful winter break and spend some quality time together. We are looking forward to welcoming all of our students back for another fantastic term of learning and growth after our school holidays!
Please note the schedule for the first week back:
Monday, July 20th & Tuesday, July 21st: Staff Professional Development Days (No school for students). Our teachers will be hard at work planning curriculum and collaborating on new learning strategies.
Wednesday, July 22nd: First day of Term 3 for all students.
We can't wait to hear all about the holiday adventures.
Warm regards,
Karlee Hatton
