Physical Education - Term 2 Update

What a busy and exciting term it has been in Physical Education!

We kicked off the term with our Cross Country Carnival, where students demonstrated outstanding determination, enthusiasm and encouragement towards one another. It was fantastic to see students challenge themselves and support their peers throughout the event.

Our Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 students have been developing their fundamental ball skills, focusing on chest passes, catching and dribbling. It has been wonderful to watch their confidence and skill level grow throughout the term, and they should be very proud of their progress.

Students in Years 3-6 recently completed their soccer unit. Throughout the unit, students developed their dribbling, passing, teamwork and game sense skills. It was fantastic to see these skills come together in our final full-game sessions, where students demonstrated excellent teamwork, sportsmanship and effort.

Our Year 3 and 4 students have recently begun their AFL unit and are already enjoying learning new skills and game concepts. Meanwhile, our Year 5 and 6 students have been fortunate to participate in an AFL program delivered by external coaches. Students have thoroughly enjoyed the sessions and have showcased some impressive skills, enthusiasm and teamwork.

This term also saw the launch of our HPS Run Club for students in Years 2-6. We have been thrilled with the incredible turnout each week. It has been fantastic to see so many students arriving before school ready to challenge themselves, improve their fitness and enjoy being active with their peers.

Thank you to all students for their enthusiasm and positive attitude throughout the term. We look forward to another exciting term of PE ahead!
