Sexual Health Education and Respectful Relationships

As part of the Heath & Physical Education curriculum for Foundation to Year 6, students complete lessons around the topic of sexuality education and consent that are age appropriate. These are taught through our Respectful Relationships lessons and targetted Wellbeing or Guided Inquiry sessions for cohorts.

This table outlines the specific concepts in the Victorian Curriculum. You will notice for consent education, the language permission is used until Years 5&6 when we explicitly teach and introduce consent.

Linked here are some Parent and Carer Guides from Sexual Health Victoria. You can select that age/s of young people in your care to explore. They contain conversation guides, and common questions children might have at this age.

These guides exsist to support adults, not to replace the knowledge and insight adults already have about their families or young people that they work with. Every family is different, and conversations at home will reflect culture, values, experiences, and a child’s unique needs.
