Year 6 Leadership Review

We recently sought feedback from parents and our Year 5 and 6 students about our Year 6 leadership program. Thank you to everyone who took the time to share their thoughts. Key themes from the survey included:

• Strong support for a review, with many parents and students indicating they would like to see changes to the current leadership structure.
• A slight preference for a smaller number of formal leadership positions, alongside leadership development opportunities and responsibilities for all Year 6 students.
• Leadership qualities valued most included kindness, responsibility, respect, teamwork, confidence and being a positive role model.
• Students expressed interest in a wider range of leadership opportunities, while ensuring every Year 6 student has meaningful opportunities to contribute to the school community, regardless of whether they hold a formal leadership title.

We are now reviewing the feedback and considering possible changes to the Year 6 leadership structure. We look forward to sharing more information with our school community over the coming weeks.

Library

Our library has had a wonderful refresh! Thanks to the generous support of families through the Library Fund, along with rewards earned from our Scholastic Book Fair, we have been able to purchase over 200 new books and new bookcases to enhance our library collection and create an even more inviting space for students to enjoy.

As we continue updating our collection, we've noticed that a number of library books are still missing from our system. We would greatly appreciate it if families could have a quick look at home for any Mount Pleasant Road Primary School library books and return them to the school library. Every returned book helps ensure our students have access to a wide range of engaging reading materials.

Thank you for your ongoing support of our school library and for helping foster a love of reading in our students.
