Principal's Message

World Teachers’ Day
Today, on World Teachers’ Day, we join the nation in stepping forward to “Shine a Light on Teachers.”
Thank you to all our wonderful students and families who spoiled our teachers today with their thoughtful gestures, kind words, and generous treats. Your kindness and appreciation made our teachers feel truly special and valued.
Let’s continue to celebrate and thank our teachers for their dedication, passion, and the incredible difference they make in shaping our children’s futures.
Walk to School Week: Monday 26th – Friday 30th
This week, we have been walking, riding and scooting to school each day as part of our active travel program! A big thank you to all the students and families who participated and supported the initiative throughout the week.
We celebrated with a community breakfast on Wednesday morning. Thank you to all the teachers who came along and helped make the morning such a success. We had a huge toast-making station running in the background, keeping everyone fuelled for the day, and it was wonderful to have the coffee van on site for mums and dads to grab a coffee before heading off for the day.
A Spot At CAMP ADANAC Summer Holiday Program!
Our Grade 3/4 students had a wonderful week at Camp Adanac last week, making memories, trying new activities and enjoying an unforgettable camp experience!
We’re so lucky that Camp Adanac has generously gifted MPRPS one place in their Primary School Summer Holiday Program! This would be most suitable for a student in Grades 3-6.
If your family is interested in this fantastic opportunity, please submit an expression of interest via the school email by Friday 4th November.

A huge thank you to Camp Adanac for their generosity and for providing this exciting opportunity for one of our students!
Movie Night
A huge thank you to all our families who joined us for Movie Night! We hope you enjoyed watching The Last Whale Singer and sharing a lovely evening together.
A special shout-out to Sarah W for all her hard work organising this wonderful event. We really appreciate your time and effort arranging this for the MPRPS community!
Get Ready for Our Colour Run – Friday, December 4th!
Our much loved Colour Run is coming up on Friday, December 4th, and we can’t wait for a day filled with colour, fun and plenty of excitement!
For those who are new to our Colour Run, you’ll need a white T-shirt to show off all the amazing colours as you run, walk and dance your way through the course. So, start searching through your cupboards, find an old white tee and get ready to get colourful!
Our Colour Run is always a fantastic day for our school community, bringing students together for lots of laughter, fun and unforgettable memories, all while supporting our school through fundraising.
Fundraising brochures have been sent home this week, so please keep an eye out for them and have a look at the information provided.
We’re looking forward to seeing everyone dressed in white and ready to be covered in colour! Let the countdown begin.........5 weeks togo!
Planning for 2027 Classes
Behind the scenes, preparations are beginning for the 2027 school year. We want to ensure that each child is placed in an environment where they can feel comfortable, build positive relationships and thrive in their learning. We understand that families may have information about their child that could assist us with this process. If there are any particular circumstances you would like us to know about, such as health needs, learning requirements, or changes in family circumstances, please email mt.pleasant.road.ps@education.vic.gov.au.
While we welcome information from families, we are unable to accommodate requests for specific teachers. All placements will be carefully considered as part of the planning process. Please send any relevant information by Friday 6th November.
School will run as usual on Monday. However, Tuesday is the Melbourne Cup Day public holiday, so there will be no school. We hope everyone enjoys the extra day off mid week next week!
