Staff Professional Learning Day – Trauma-Informed Practice

On Friday 24 April, staff at Mary MacKillop Catholic Regional College participated in a Professional Learning Day focused on Trauma-Informed Practice.

Facilitated by Yvonne Lindros from the MacKillop Institute, the day provided staff with valuable insights into the impact of adversity and trauma on young people, as well as practical strategies to support student wellbeing through safe, supportive relationships.

Staff engaged in a series of sessions exploring self-regulation, co-regulation, and the importance of secure connections in learning environments.

This professional learning reflects the College’s ongoing commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for all students.

A Positive Start to Term 2

It has been an exciting start to the term, with many opportunities for students to engage, connect and grow as part of our College community, including camps, sporting events, excursions, wellbeing programs and incursions. It has been pleasing to see students demonstrate positive attitudes and strong participation across these experiences. Thank you to all staff who have contributed to supporting these opportunities. Together, this reflects the strong culture of our College, where students are encouraged to show respect, responsibility, wisdom and courage, while developing a sense of connection, belonging and pride in their learning.
