Year 7 and 8

Year 7
The Year 7s have had a very busy end to a very busy term! All students have done a tremendous job of displaying endeavour, responsibility, respect, and resilience throughout NAPLAN over the past few weeks, which will be a fantastic tool in helping the school to target student needs across the curriculum.
The Year 7s have been joining lunchtime clubs and forging new friendships within and across classes and we’ve been so impressed by the community they have been building. The Year 7 team enjoyed meeting so many parents and carers at interviews to close out the term, and the valuable opportunity this provides teachers to work in partnership with parents as they report on and discuss all the learning Year 7 students have been engaging in throughout the term.
We’re so proud of each and every Year 7 student for reaching the end of their very first term of high school, and we’re looking forward to what the rest of the year has to offer.

Year 8
Our Year 8 students have had an energetic and engaging start to the 2026 school year, highlighted by the recent Forest Edge camp — a fantastic opportunity for students to challenge themselves and strengthen their connections with others.
Students embraced a wide range of activities, including river sledding, high ropes, rock climbing and the crate climb. It was particularly pleasing to see so many students step outside their comfort zones, demonstrate resilience and support one another throughout the experience.
Evenings at camp were equally memorable, with Games Night bringing plenty of fun, laughter and healthy competition. These shared experiences played an important role in building teamwork, confidence and positive relationships, which have carried back into the classroom.
Throughout the term, Year 8 students have continued to demonstrate the College values of respect, resilience, responsibility and endeavour in both their learning and daily interactions. Their positive approach and willingness to engage has been a strong feature of the cohort.
As we move into Term 2, we look forward to building on this strong start, with a continued focus on attendance, organisation, academic growth and maintaining positive relationships.
