Junior School update

Year 7

Year 7's have had a whirlwind of a start to the year! 

• Welcome week and 'getting to know you' activities. 
• An awesome day at Funfields. 
• Getting started with their regular classes and timetables. 
• Surviving the hustle and bustle of the locker bay! 
• And getting to know many new students and teachers. The students have shown great resilience and adaptability navigating the school and its processes. 

Sadly, the C=amp had to be postponed due to uncertainty with road access in the area due to ongoing fire activity, but we are looking forward to the rescheduled camp in December. It was great to see a number of students participate in the swimming carnival earlier this week. 

Parents/Carers, a couple of jobs for you! 

1. Remind students that phones are NOT permitted to be used and MUST be left in lockers between 8:50am and 3:16pm. 
2. Remind students to put their devices on charge overnight so they are fully charged for the day ahead.

Welcome back to Year 8 at Gisborne Secondary College! We hope you had a fantastic summer break and are feeling refreshed and ready for the exciting year ahead. As we kick off the new school year, we’re looking forward to all the learning, growth, and achievements to come. We hope you’re prepared for a fresh start and can’t wait to see what you all accomplish this year! Please contact your mentors initially if you need any support and Ms Clarke and Ms Davies are on hand to support you if your mentors cannot resolve your queries.
