School Saving Bonus Activities Allocation Process

With the School Saving Bonus (SSB), the Victorian Government is providing a one-off $400 to help families cover the costs of their kids’ school uniforms, textbooks, excursions and activities.

If you wish to use the School Saving Bonus for school activities including camps, sports, excursions and music lessons please follow the process of allocating the SSB funds to the school below:

  1. Please visit the School Saving Bonus website at: https://www.schoolsavingbonus.vic.gov.au and enter your voucher code previously emailed to you and your email address.  Allocate the amount of your choosing to School Activities.

  2. Email gisborne.sc@education.vic.gov.au and in the subject line put SSB Allocation. In the body of the email please put the name of the student, the event you would like to use the SSB for and the amount you would like to allocate.

  3. We will then manually allocate the SSB money for you and update Compass with this allocation amount.

*  Once you’ve allocated the School Saving Bonus it will take around 24 hours for the funds to be available for the school to access and use as you have directed.

Please contact the School Saving Bonus team directly on https://www.schoolsavingbonus.vic.gov.au/s/enquiry-form if you have any questions.

If your student is new to Gisborne Secondary College an application form will need to be filled out for 2025 – this includes 2025 Year 7 students transferring from a Primary School.

2025 Parent Payment Contributions

The 2025 Parent Payment Contributions have been uploaded on to Compass and can be found under the Contributions tab.

We do appreciate your contribution towards your child’s curriculum costs, as these allow us to run educational programs within the school and provide resources to aid in your child’s learning.

The Curriculum Contribution charge has been split into 4 equal payments. You can choose to pay all 4 payments at once or one payment per term.

Current payment methods include Compass, direct deposit or BPay.

Excursion Permissions and Payments

Excursions on Compass close for permission and payment three days before the event occurs.  This allows the school time to confirm transport and staffing requirements.  Please ensure you give permission and payment in a timely manner, so your child does not miss out on attending. Any student without permission and/or payment will not be able to attend and will need to remain at school.

If you wish to pay for an excursion using CSEF or credit on your account, please action the permission on Compass and chose pay by CSEF/Credit option.  If you wish to pay by School Saving Bonus – please follow the SSB process above including the step of notifying the school of that payment method.

Local Area Excursions

Parent/Carer permissions required

In 2025 Gisborne Secondary College may take students outside of school grounds to undertake educational activities in the local area.  Local excursions are excursions to locations within walking distance of the school and do not involve Adventure Activities.

To simplify the permission process, the College has a blanket consent for Local Area Excursions for the 2025 school year that we ask parents/carers to please review and action in Compass.  Once actioned, we will not seek further consent from you before local excursions take place, however, we will provide advance notice to parents/carers of upcoming local excursions through Compass, the school newsletter or email communication. For local excursions that occur on a recurring basis, we will notify parents/carers prior to the commencement of the recurring event, e.g. weekly sports lessons at the local oval.
