On the evening of Wednesday 27 May, eighty of our dedicated Performing Arts students attended Waitress The Musical at Her Majesty's Theatre in Melbourne's bustling CBD.
The production is celebrated for its heartfelt and soulful score by Sara Bareilles, telling the story of one woman's courage, creativity, and the power of finding her own voice.
Throughout the evening, our students were captivated by the emotional depth and warmth of the Musical. As the story unfolded through its moving performances and beautifully crafted songs, the audience were drawn into a world of resilience and self-discovery — an experience that resonated long after the final curtain fell.
This immersive excursion not only deepened the students' understanding of the performing arts but also instilled in them a deeper appreciation for the transformative power of storytelling through music and theatre.

The group was accompanied by a dedicated team of staff members. Such experiences play a pivotal role in nurturing the creative spirit and fostering a love for the arts among our students. We are all looking forward to more such engaging and educational initiatives in the future!

Last week, Instrumental Music students headed off to CYC Forest Edge for our annual music camp.
We participated in three full days of intensive rehearsals in preparation for the upcoming Gala Concert in September, as well as some activities including trivia, VCE Performances, and a movie night.

Music camp is an incredible opportunity for students across all year levels to get to know each other, and it fosters strong relationships between ensemble mates.

These relationships were strengthened by our evening activities, encouraging students to work collaboratively in their trivia teams and and enjoy watching a movie or performances with new found friends.

A highlight for senior and junior students alike was the VCE performance night, where unit 1& 3 VCE Music students had the opportunity to perform pieces from their recital program.

The performance night prepared the VCE students for their upcoming mid-year performance SACs. Many junior students said they were inspired to continue with music as they grow through secondary school.

Thank you to the staff that attended and made sure that everyone got fed, showed up to their rehearsals, and woke up on time to make it to breakfast!

Missing Back Pack
We are still missing one black North Face backpack which returned from Music Camp but appears to have been taken home by someone else. We ask families to please have a thorough search at home and return the back pack to the school as soon as possible.
