It is with great excitement that I announce the theme for the 2026 Visual Art and Technology Showcase...

Realms Beyond: Exploring Worlds of Creativity 

This year, we journey beyond the ordinary and into worlds yet to be imagined. Step through the gates of Realms Beyond, an immersive celebration of VCE student work inspired by the worlds of fantasy, myth and adventure.

From ancient kingdoms and forgotten legends to mystical creatures and heroic adventures, this year’s Showcase invites students to explore realms shaped by imagination and brought to life through Art and Technology...but every great realm needs a creator…and we need YOU!

Calling all Student Artists & Designers

Please accept our quest to design a Showcase flyer that explores the visual identity of Realms Beyond. This is an opportunity for your creative work to be featured on all promotional material and for your designs to become part of the legend itself.

For budding designers, be inspired by myths and legends, epic adventures, fantasy tropes, medieval costumes, otherworldly settings, mystical creatures and characters, spells and magic and much more! 

The quest begins…

1. Work by yourself, or as a creative guild (team)

2. Designs must reflect the ‘fantasy theme’ of Realms Beyond.

3. Designs must include either space for wording to be added or the following wording: '2026 Visual Art and Technology Showcase Realms Beyond: Exploring Worlds of Creativity'

4. Showcase evening: Wed 18 Nov 2026

5. Designs must be submitted digitally (e.g. if hand drawn, designs should be scanned/photographed)

6. Use of AI is not permitted

7. Work must be in portrait orientation and submitted as high resolution JPEG or PNG files (please confirm with me if unsure)

8.  Submit your work by Fri 26 June, end of Week 10.

All designs will be presented before the council of Elrond (Art and Technology staff and student captains), who will select the work that best embodies the spirit of Realms Beyond.

The winning artist will be announced at the beginning of Term 3 and honoured with a prize at the Showcase evening. 

The adventure begins now. Venture beyond the ordinary and create a design worthy of becoming legend.
