International Women’s Day - Sunday, 8 March

On Sunday, 8 March, we joined the global community in celebrating International Women’s Day. Born from the labor movements of the early twentieth century, this day has grown into a powerful movement for women’s rights and their full participation in the economy, politics, and everyday life.

As a College, we marked this occasion on Friday, 6 March with a special morning tea to recognise the wonderful contributions and dedication of our women teaching and support staff. We are incredibly blessed by the leadership, brilliance, and compassion of the women who shape St Aloysius. We celebrate not only their professional achievements but the daily heart they bring to our community, making our College such a vibrant place for all students to learn and grow.

Year 7 Parent/Student Information Evening Tuesday, 10 March | 6:00 pm | Learning Centre (Library)

Following the details shared via Compass, we invite all Year 7 students and their families to our Information Evening on Tuesday, 10 March. The session will commence at 6:00pm in the Learning Centre (Library).

The primary focus of the evening is to outline the Year 7 assessment schedule, including the formal procedures and regulations surrounding examinations. For many of our students, this represents their first experience with secondary assessment. We recognize the challenge of balancing academic requirements with wellbeing, sport, and social commitments; our goal is to clarify these processes so that every family feels confident and supported for the year ahead.

In addition to academic guidance, we will provide essential information regarding significant upcoming events, including:

  • NAPLAN preparations
  • The Year 7 Camp experience
  • Sacramental opportunities for our youngest students

We look forward to seeing you there. We ask that students attend in full summer uniform and sit with their parents or carers for the duration of the presentation.

Traffic Safety: Drop-Off and Pick-Up on Cross Road

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the many parents and carers who consistently use the designated ‘Drop-Off/Pick-Up’ zone on Cross Road. Prioritising this zone is essential to ensuring the safety of every student at St Aloysius. For those who may be unfamiliar with the specific location, please see the instructional photos included below.

To maintain a safe environment, I must remind all parents to strictly avoid double-parking on Cross Road during the busy morning and afternoon periods. Double-parking creates significant blind spots and hazards for our students crossing the road; your cooperation in keeping traffic flowing safely is very much appreciated.

Looking ahead, I am pleased to reassure our community that our upcoming Master Plan works—scheduled to begin in the second half of 2026 and continue through 2027 and 2028—include a significant solution to our current traffic needs. This project features a new, designated drop-off and pick-up area within an extended car park off Cross Road, providing a much safer and more efficient environment for students, parents, and staff alike. Detailed sketches are provided below.
