Leader of Year 11 Wellbeing (Acting)

Ms Lea-Kathryn Nelson

The Year 11 cohort has settled smoothly into their senior studies, displaying consistency, responsibility, and a growing confidence in their new environment. As students step into the senior phase of their learning, it has been encouraging to see them approach their classes with maturity, focus, and a genuine willingness to engage. They have integrated smoothly into the College community, and it has been wonderful to see friendships forming and new connections developing across homerooms and subject areas.

Over the past two weeks, I have had the privilege of supporting the year group as the Acting Year 11 Leader of Wellbeing. During this time, I have been consistently impressed by the students’ positive attitude, respectful conduct, and the way they have embraced the expectations of senior study. Their openness, enthusiasm, and readiness to contribute have been evident—particularly through the large number of Year 11 students who volunteered to assist at the College Open Day, as well as their thoughtful participation in our recent Pastoral lesson on belonging.

Teachers have echoed these observations, noting the calm, productive atmosphere in classrooms and the steady development of strong study routines. Year 11 should be proud of the way they have begun their senior journey.

Upcoming Assessment Period

As we move further into Term 1, students will soon begin their first formal assessment tasks for Year 11. The exam timetable for the upcoming assessment block is included below to help families plan ahead and support students in managing their study routines.

Students are reminded to arrive at the College with ample time before the commencement of each exam. This helps ensure a calm and prepared start to the assessment.

We encourage students to use this period to develop strong study habits, seek clarification from teachers when needed, and maintain a balanced approach to their wellbeing. If they require support with study planning or wellbeing concerns, they are welcome to contact their Leader of Wellbeing.

Year 11 is a year of growth, independence, and new challenges. This cohort has already shown they are well‑placed to make the most of the opportunities ahead. Thank you to families for your ongoing support as we guide students through this important stage of their schooling.
