Committee 4 Wagga
Committee 4 Wagga commenced the Wagga School Leaders Program last week. This year’s cohort are very excited about the 5 months ahead of them in the program. Engaged in the program this year are Sienna Heffernan, Samuel Thomsen and Stephanie Shaw.

The program’s objective is to develop young, aspiring high school students into positive, successful ambassadors for the city. Students participating in the program attend seven modules over seven days across the first half of the year, with each module of the curriculum designed to achieve different learning outcomes.

Rotary Peace Day Ceremony
On Sunday February 22, Lucy Halloway and Gypsy McDonnell attended the Rotary Peace Day Ceremony. They participated in the Procession of Flags, accepted recognition for the efforts made by our school community and delivered a speech about Mater Dei’s acts of service in the community and beyond. It was a wonderful event and it was inspiring to hear all the incredible things people are doing to really make a difference in the lives of others. We congratulate Rotary on another successful ceremony to celebrate the service of others.
International Women's Day

On Friday March 6 we joined in Dr Joe McGirr’s celebration for International Women’s Day. This year the guest speaker was television presenter Liv Phyland, whose message was “be real”. She talked about the importance of speaking out about your dreams to make them happen and to not stray from who you are.
Liv shared her humour and passion for her job with personal stories of how she realised she sometimes found herself trying to be someone others wanted her to be , but how in the end she was true to herself and made her future happen. She left us with a question, “If who you are today is enough, how would you show up?” We were grateful for the opportunity to be part of this fantastic event for International Women's Day.
House Breakfasts
Our tradition of celebrating a House BBQ Breakfast continues this Term and we are grateful that so many families have been able to join us at the Pear Tree Cafe to share a meal and enjoy each other's company. Our staff and senior students have done an amazing job of preparing breakfast for us and we look forward to our upcoming Carroll and Kennedy House BBQ’s.
