Band and Piano

Hip Hip Hooray! Our New Instruments Have Arrived! đșđ¶
Â
Exciting news for our school band, our brand-new instruments have finally landed! Mrs Thomsen is so thrilled sheâs spending her weekend getting everything finalised for a fantastic start with our new intake.
Â
While our new instruments and cases are looking shiny and brand new, our senior band members might like to give their instruments a little extra care this week. A quick clean makes a big difference!
đ” Mouthpieces
- Soak in warm, soapy water for a few minutes.
- Clarinet mouthpieces can be gently cleaned with an old soft toothbrush.
đ” Cases
- Empty them out and give them a quick vacuum.
- Wipe the outside with a damp cloth.
- Make sure everything is completely dry before putting instruments back inside.
- Please donât leave cases or instruments out in the Australian sun.
đ” Instrument Bodies
- Use your blue polishing cloth to shine the outside â no cleaning fluids needed.
- Trumpet players can oil their valves.
Clarinet players can apply a little cork grease as needed.
Â
A clean instrument not only looks great - it plays better too! We canât wait to hear our band sound better than ever this term. đ¶
