Band and Piano

Hip Hip Hooray! Our New Instruments Have Arrived! đŸŽșđŸŽ¶

Exciting news for our school band, our brand-new instruments have finally landed! Mrs Thomsen is so thrilled she’s spending her weekend getting everything finalised for a fantastic start with our new intake.

While our new instruments and cases are looking shiny and brand new, our senior band members might like to give their instruments a little extra care this week. A quick clean makes a big difference!

đŸŽ” Mouthpieces

  • Soak in warm, soapy water for a few minutes.
  • Clarinet mouthpieces can be gently cleaned with an old soft toothbrush.

đŸŽ” Cases

  • Empty them out and give them a quick vacuum.
  • Wipe the outside with a damp cloth.
  • Make sure everything is completely dry before putting instruments back inside.
  • Please don’t leave cases or instruments out in the Australian sun.

đŸŽ” Instrument Bodies

  • Use your blue polishing cloth to shine the outside – no cleaning fluids needed.
  • Trumpet players can oil their valves.
  • Clarinet players can apply a little cork grease as needed.

A clean instrument not only looks great - it plays better too! We can’t wait to hear our band sound better than ever this term. đŸŽ¶
