From the SRC

The SRC have done lots of work this term so far with many more programs and fun events on the way.

We had Cultural Diversity Week from the 18th of May to the 22nd of May, where we had many different activities spread out throughout the week. On Monday, there was a rock painting activity in the courtyard where we saw some amazing and abstract art pieces. Friday there was a game of European handball in the gym, where we saw skills shine from many different students. On Thursday, we had a free dress day and saw some amazing singers in the auditorium, allowing us to listen to their beautiful voices. We would also like to thank all of the people who helped us set up during the week and congratulate everyone who participated in the different activities.

The Athletics Carnival on the 14th of May was a fun and exciting day. Great job to everyone participating and for the Year 12s all dressing up for the special occasion. We had many events spanning from 100m sprints to 800m runs. We had tunnel ball as one of the last games for the Year 12s, which was lots of fun. At the end of the day, we had a fun walk around the track where everyone participated. A special congratulations to Harrison R. for clearing 1.80m in high jump and also congratulations to Arakoola on winning the Athletics Carnival this year.

NAIDOC week is coming up soon on the 6th of July until the 10th of July. NAIDOC week is dedicated for us to celebrate the histories, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. There will be some fun activities so be ready for them.

The Big Freeze is also coming up soon, so everyone is excited to see our favourite teachers slide into some ice cold water in memory of Neale Daniher.
