SSC Debating

"On Monday, March 2nd at St. Bernard's College, 8 debating teams represented Strathmore. I was a part of D-grade, Team 2, and debated with D-grade, St. Aloysius' College, Team 1. We debated the matter of cost-free camping in national parks. It was a close competition, but the final result was in our favour. Not only that, but the other 7 teams also succeeded in their debate, though I'm sure, even if the outcome were to be not as positive for all teams, we would've all still had a great time."

On Monday nights during Semester 1 Strathmore have been competing in the Essendon Division of Inter school debating at St. Bernard's College. We have 8 debating teams representing Strathmore; 4 teams at year 9, 1 at year 10, 1 at year 11 and 2 teams at year 12.
On Monday June 1 we competed in Round 4 with 6 out of 8 teams winning. That leaves 3 of our teams with the chance of winning through to the next round of debating if they are successful in round 5 in July. Unlike many of our interschool competitions we compete against all schools in the Essendon region, including Independent and Catholic schools. Congratulations to all the students who compete, the parents who come to support them and to the teachers who guide their hard work in preparation for the debates.
We look forward to the final round on July 27.
