Inter-School Badminton
During Term 2 Strathmore Secondary College competed in the Maribyrnong Division of Intermediate and Senior Badminton. The students spent some cold mornings practicing in the gym under the expert guidance of Mr. Ge in preparation for the competition. In the Intermediate division two boys’ teams and two girls’ teams competed against schools such as Buckley Park and Braybrook College. All teams competed well against some very strong opposition with the boys A team getting through to the semi-finals. On Thursday May 21, we sent another two boys’ and girls’ teams to compete in the Senior division against the same schools. Again, the competition was very strong with some very good performances by all the students. Across both days the students represented Strathmore with respect and in the spirit of competition. We look forward to building on our success next year.
-Mr. Warrick and Mr. Ge
On 21st May, boys and 2 girls teams competed in the Moonee Valley Division competition. All teams performed very well with one team successfully winning through to the Western Metropolitan Region final held on 6th August. The boys’ team did their best in the Region finals and competed well in the face of very good opposition. All the players over the two competitions represented the school with pride and distinction. Thank you to the staff who supported the teams, in particular Ms Li.
