Year 7 Lino Printing

Year 7 Art students made designs using line, shape and pattern to produce wonderful Lino prints of insects. Using special cutting tools and other specialised equipment, they created playful images of insects and their surrounding. The prints were further enhanced by being printed on magazine pages, decorated paper or with cut-out sections.

Year 8 Pop Art

Bold and colourful….. and deceiving! Students made everyday objects and containers out of clay, keeping scale and size in mind. They then decorated the bisque-fired pieces, adding detail and colour to mimic the original design. Skill was required both in the construction and in the application of logos and paint.

Year 9 Snap and Sketch

Skulls seem quite ghoulish but Yr9 students used them as props for observational drawing and in the composition of a Memento Mori still life set up. Applying the skills they were taught of tonal rendering, students interpreted the 3D objects to create an illusion of depth and perspective. Memento Mori was one approach in art that reminded people that life is fleeting. Apart from a realistic rendering, students were asked to create two more skull-centred artworks that  prompted them to explore and express their personal creativity.
