Supporting Student Voice and Wellbeing

Year 7 Camp Survey

At our school, student voice and strong partnerships with families are central to the way we support wellbeing and engagement. As part of our ongoing commitment to providing meaningful opportunities for students, we are excited to share that surveys are being distributed to both parents and students.

These surveys have been developed to help us better plan for the upcoming Year 7 camp and to gather valuable feedback about future extracurricular opportunities that students would like to see at school. Student input is essential in ensuring our programs reflect their interests, needs and experiences.

We encourage all families to take a few moments to complete the survey when it is sent out. Your feedback will help us make informed decisions and ensure we continue to provide opportunities that best support our students’ growth, connection and sense of belonging.

The important role of our Year Advisers

Our Year Advisers play a vital role in supporting the wellbeing, development and success of every student. They work closely with students, families and staff to ensure each child feels known, supported and connected throughout their schooling journey.

Parents and carers are encouraged to contact their child’s Year Adviser if they have concerns, questions or would like additional support. Their role includes:

  • Working collaboratively with parents/carers, teachers, school counsellors, student support staff, learning support and external agencies to address wellbeing concerns.
  • Promoting the NSW Wellbeing Framework to ensure students connect, succeed and thrive
  • Leading key year-based programs and significant school events
  • Guiding, mentoring and supporting students through academic, social and personal challenges
  • Organising year meetings during Connect to strengthen communication and connection
  • Monitoring attendance, uniform, engagement and wellbeing data to identify and provide support early
  • Supporting students through restorative conversations, peer mediation and conflict resolution

The relationship between home and school is critical in supporting young people. Our Year Advisers are dedicated to building strong partnerships with families and ensuring students are supported to thrive both in and beyond the classroom.
