Student Safety Reminder
Students Walking Safely To and From School
We kindly ask parents and carers to speak with their children about road safety when walking to and from school. We’ve observed an increasing number of students engaging in unsafe behaviours, including:
- Using mobile phones while crossing roads, leading to reduced awareness of traffic
- Wearing headphones or AirPods, making it difficult to hear approaching vehicles or warnings
- Running across roads between traffic or in unsafe locations instead of using pedestrian crossings or traffic lights
These actions significantly increase the risk of accidents. Please remind your child to:
- Stay alert and aware of their surroundings
- Remove or pause use of headphones when near traffic
- Use designated pedestrian crossings and obey traffic signals
- Never assume a driver has seen them or will stop
Together, we can help ensure all students arrive safely at school and return home safely each day.
