Little Learners

Welcome back to Term 2!
Our Little Learners have had an exciting start to the term as we have moved into our new space in the back hall. The children have settled in beautifully and are really enjoying their new environment. We are especially loving our easy access to the Memorial Garden, the Ninja Warrior playground, and the sensory garden.
The children have been enthusiastically exploring the climbing equipment, learning to climb up, over, and through different structures. These experiences are wonderful for developing strength, balance, and coordination. As children grip, hold, and move their bodies in different ways, they are also building the small muscle strength needed for fine motor skills, such as holding a pencil, drawing, and using scissors. Outdoor play like this also supports confidence, problem-solving, and resilience as children challenge themselves and try new things.
This term, our focus book is The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. Through this much-loved story, we will be exploring early literacy skills such as sequencing, retelling, and vocabulary development. We will also use the story to support early mathematics, including counting, days of the week, and patterns. It is always a favourite, and we are looking forward to lots of rich learning experiences inspired by this text.
We are excited for a wonderful term of learning and growth ahead!
