Harmony Day Celebration

On Monday 16th March, students took part in a special Harmony Day celebration, coming together to recognise and celebrate the many cultures that make up our community. The morning began with class-based activities where students explored recipes and learned greetings from different languages, helping build an appreciation for cultural diversity.

Students then participated in a whole school activity creating a “Flag of My Heritage” using tiles, representing their backgrounds and identities. This creative activity encouraged students to reflect on where they come from and share this with others.

Throughout the morning, students engaged in a range of interactive Harmony Day stations, including Harmony Hands, a Photo Booth, Music and Dance, Kindness Cards, World Map Connections, and Jersey Design. These activities promoted kindness, cultural pride, and respectful curiosity about others’ traditions and experiences.

The celebration concluded with a Cultural Food Tasting station during lunch, where students had the opportunity to try foods from different cultures. The day encouraged students to celebrate diversity, strengthen inclusion, and recognise that everyone belongs.
