Sustainability and Gardening Club

Welcome to the all-new Sustainability and Gardening Club page of the Newletter, where we will showcase ways we are contributing to sustainability across the school, as well as giving you updates on Gardening Club, plant sales, etc.
In the last two weeks we diverted from landfill over 250 bottles and cans, and over 10 litres of food scraps. Thank you to all of the students who use our compost and bottle recycling bins within their Learning Centres.
This fortnight the Gardening Club spent time tidying up the Multicultural garden, removing weeds and spent flowers. Thank you to our Gardening Club students for all of their hard work!
While our vegetable patch was affected by the hot and dry summer over the holidays, some plants have thrived, including a large sunflower, squash and tomatoes.
This term we will be looking at ways we can keep moisture in our garden beds through adding mulch, compost and plant selections, as well as preparing the vegetable patch for the change of seasons.
