Student Leader Reports

Hi everyone and happy Week 8!
This term has been huge, learning, revising and completing many of our Unit 3 SACs. Our cohort is learning to manage the stresses of this period, with the help and support of our teachers and each other, eagerly waiting for the holidays.
Just last week, the senior students had their Intersport Round Robin with great days across netball, soccer, footy and badminton. Whilst some emotions arose with it being the Year 12 students' last sporting day, we found comfort in making the most of our ‘lasts'.
Over the past couple of weeks, we have been very busy, spending a lot of time finalising the planning for our Class of 2026 legacy item. Our idea, titled ‘Pieces of Us’, is something that we as a cohort will hold very close to our hearts long after graduation, as it not only represents the legacy we have left on the school, but the lasting impact that we have made on each other’s lives. We are currently in the midst of organising our fundraising activity for our legacy piece, where we will seek the support of the college community.
Next week, the Year 12 students and many of the Year 11 students will complete the General Achievement Test (GAT), helping to simulate an exam-style assessment. We have also learnt in GOAL on the benefits of completing the GAT, which provides a safety net for our end-of-year results.
We wish all of you a safe and happy end to Term 2, and we can’t wait to see all of your happy faces after a well-earned rest.
Thank you, Immy and Judah.

Sports Leaders' Report
Regional Cross Country
On Tuesday 9 June, we had Regional Cross Country at Hastings Foreshore, and it was a great effort from all students who attended. Highlight performances came from our 17-20 Boys team, who came second in the team race on a difficult and slower course, with Yianni S running a 17:20 5km in 6th place, James S running an 18:17 in 15th place and Bryce M running an 18:35 in 19th place.
A big congratulations to the three students who made it through to State Cross Country next term: Yianni S, Zara K in the 16 Girls event with time of 13:50 for 3km, placing 12th, and Sophie T, who placed on the podium in 3rd place in the 12-13 Girls event with a very impressive 12:26 for 3km.
Congratulations to all those who made it to Regionals, and a big congratulations to the three students who made it through to State Cross Country.
