Year 7 Our World

The World Around Me

As part of their The World Around Me Project Based Learning (PBL) unit, Year 7 students have been exploring the concepts of identity and perspective through a combination of History and Civics and Citizenship.

Students began by reflecting on their own identity before investigating the experiences and perspectives of others, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Through research, discussion and collaborative learning activities, students considered how different experiences shape the way people view the world.

A key feature of the project is the creation of a physical “thread” of identity and perspective cards. Throughout the unit, students record their ideas, learning and reflections on individual cards, which are then connected to create a visual representation of their learning journey and the relationships between people, experiences and perspectives.
