Walk Safely to School Day – A Wonderful Success!
On Friday, 22 May, our school proudly participated in National Walk Safely to School Day, and what a wonderful morning it was!
It was fantastic to see so many students and families choosing to walk, wheel, scoot, or enjoy a "Park and Walk" journey to school. The event was a great opportunity to promote healthy lifestyles, road safety awareness, and the many benefits of active travel.
Students were warmly welcomed at the school gate by our Wellbeing Leaders, who congratulated participants and helped celebrate the occasion with free fruit and fun tattoos. Our Wellbeing Leaders did an outstanding job throughout the morning, enthusiastically handing out fruit, applying tattoos, and creating a fun and welcoming atmosphere for everyone arriving at school. Their leadership and commitment helped make the event such a success.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Michaels Fresh Food Market and their produce suppliers, Just Fresh, for their generous donation of fruit for the event. Their support helped make the morning extra special for our students.
Walk Safely to School Day also provided an important opportunity to reinforce key road safety messages, including using designated crossings, remaining alert around traffic, and making safe choices when travelling to and from school.
Thank you to all students, families, staff, and volunteers who supported this wonderful initiative. Together, we helped promote healthy habits, safer communities, and a positive start to the school day.
