National Simultaneous Storytime

Check out all the action from National Simultaneous Storytime.
On Thursday 28th May, we celebrated National Simultaneous Storytime. Throughout the week students enjoyed reading the book Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller by Adam Wallace, Adrian Beck and Jake A. Minton.
On Thursday, Prep to Year 3 students assembled in the hall to watch the story being read together, while Year 4–6 students viewed the story in their classrooms. A raffle was held and one student from each class won a copy of the book. Grade 4–6 students played fun soccer games on the oval at lunchtime, organised by Mrs Edwards and led by the Year 6 students. Thanks to Mrs Renaud for working with students to create the amazing art display outside the Library. The whole school enjoyed wearing sports clothing and completed special classroom activities to celebrate this annual event.
Feedback from some of the library leaders:
National Simultaneous Story time was fun for all the students as they had the chance to dress up in their favourite sports clothes for example, footy jerseys, soccer clothes and anything else that was sports related. There was one lucky winner of the book from each class. There were 2 lucky teachers who also won a copy of the book, Mrs Edwards and Mrs Renaud. Every winner got to take a copy of the book home. Recently our school celebrated National Simultaneous Story time. This year the book selected was ‘Luna Roo footballer Kangaroo’. On this day everyone was encouraged to wear sports clothes for example, footy jerseys, soccer tops and many more. It was a really fun day with many exciting activities as well! After reading the book in class, we got to design our own soccer tops that went into a competition, we also got to play soccer games at lunch break that was organised by grade 6 sports leaders and Mrs Edwards. National Simultaneous Story time was really fun and I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as me. Lola I
The book, Luna Roo : footballer kangaroo, has a really good message and I really enjoyed reading it. My favourite part was when she won the world cup even though everyone was booing her. Do you know why she won? She won because she was persistent, she inspired her team to win even though things were hard. There is nothing that I didn’t like about this story. The message is to believe in yourself because nobody else will, so don't give up–instead, keep going, just like Luna Roo did!!. Elpida D
