Welcome back to Term 4! We hope everyone had a relaxing and refreshing spring break.
We are looking forward to our final term of French for the year, where students will continue to build on their language skills and extend their knowledge in preparation for the year ahead.
Below is a snapshot of what each year level will be exploring during Weeks 1–2:
Prep
Students will continue revising their French, with a focus on the days of the week and counting from 1–10.
Grade 1
Students will continue learning the names of different body parts and practise using “J’ai” (I have) to describe the body parts they have and how many of each they have.
Grade 2
Students will learn how to ask and answer questions about food in French. They will then collect and interpret data through a class survey.
Grade 3
Students will learn and practise French prepositions, including in front of, above, below, around, behind, on top of, and underneath. They will then complete a formative speaking assessment and practise using French prepositions to locate different places on a map.
Grade 4
Students will learn how to give French greetings and well wishes. They will then explore vocabulary related to the weather and practise describing the weather in India in French.
Grade 5
Students will learn how to conjugate two irregular verbs, faire (to do/make) and aller (to go). They will also learn how to use the near future tense in French.
Grade 6
Students will continue developing their knowledge of faire (to do/make) and aller (to go), including their irregular conjugations. They will also practise using the near future tense to talk about future plans and activities.
We look forward to another wonderful term of learning, communicating and discovering the French language together!
