Our Learning:
Literacy:
In Little Learners, we have completed our learning for Stage 7.2.
This week, we have begun learning our new Stage 7.3 sounds and heart words. Our focus sounds this week are 'oo' (as in goose) and 'le' (as in poodle).
In Writing, we have started reading Migaloo the White Whale. We will be using this text to support our sentence and text-level writing, while also exploring the concept of migration.
Numeracy:
In Math, we are beginning to learn about measuring length, mass and capacity.
We have been comparing the length of lots of items around our classrooms, including our handspan and measuring using string and strips of paper.
Shortly we will be learning how to heft.
I wonder what things you can heft around your kitchen or home. Can you compare two items and name what is heavier and lighter?
Wellbeing:
Here are some photos of our latest wellbeing lesson about friendship and passing around compliments.
Dojo Points:
Well done to the students who have received their dojo awards!
