Get ready for our inaugural House Choir Event!

As we approach the final day of Term 1, we are delighted to announce our inaugural House Choir Event - a joyful celebration of our 70th Anniversary. This event promises to be a memorable way to end the term, filled with music, harmony, and celebration.

At Mount Alvernia, we are dedicated to fostering academic wellbeing, community engagement, and the Franciscan charism. Events like this remind us of the importance of being present, supporting each other, and celebrating the unique gifts we all bring to our community.

The House Choir Event is all about unity, joy, and the simple pleasure of singing together. For many, it may mean stepping into their courage zone, but it’s not about costumes or hours of rehearsals. Instead, it’s about coming together, raising our voices in harmony, and embracing the spirit of teamwork.

In our 70th year, it makes sense for us to sing a song from the 70’s. Here is the lineup:

  • Belle Prairie – September
  • Greccio – I Can See Clearly Now
  • Perugia – I Will Survive
  • Rieti – Proud Mary
  • Spoleto – Take Me Home, Country Roads
  • Villa Spada – We Are Family

We’re sure these songs will bring back wonderful memories for parents and carers too!

We encourage families to get involved at home this week by playing these iconic 70s songs, singing along, and helping your daughters get excited for this special event. Let’s keep the energy high and celebrate the end of the term together as a community.

Every day matters

Every day at school is important, and the last day is no exception. Thursday, 2nd April is a compulsory school day. We strongly encourage all students to attend right up until the final bell. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to come together, share in the joy of music, and shine as part of their House.

The Heads of House can’t wait to see everyone singing with plenty of 70s flair! Let’s make this inaugural House Choir Event a day to remember.
