Dear Families,
Wow, what a great and busy week it has been for our Year 6 students!
Our Year 6s had a fantastic time participating in the Book Week Parade, proudly showing off their amazing costumes and celebrating their love of reading.

A big well done to the students selected to represent our school at the Athletics Carnival. You showed great grit, determination and sportsmanship, and we are very proud of you!

Thank you to Mrs Overbury for handing out the CAT certificates to the students who participated. Congratulations to all of our Year 6 recipients!

Last Friday, some of our Year 6 students shared their Confirmation experience with the Year 1 and 2 students, reflecting on this important step in their faith journey. They spoke about the Sacrament of Confirmation, the Holy Spirit, and what the experience meant to them personally. It was a wonderful opportunity for the younger students to learn from the Year 6 students and ask questions about their faith.

Learning For Week 8:
Religious Education: In Religious Education, students will continue building on their learning about the Eucharist and exploring what it means to live out their faith. They will reflect on how their faith can guide their choices, actions and relationships with others.

English: In English, students are introduced to a new novel, Can You See Me? Students are developing their reading comprehension skills by reading and responding to questions and queries about the class novel.

Mathematics: In Mathematics next week, students will learn to identify right prisms and explore their key features. They will justify their decisions by explaining how the features of a shape determine whether it is a right prism.
Performing Arts: In Performing Arts next week, students will create drama based on their own experiences and ideas. They will work on developing and performing a short scene for their classmates.
Auslan: Next week in Auslan, students will work in teams to identify, practise and count the Auslan signs they know confidently. They will work collaboratively to sort sign cards, practise tricky signs and count the signs they can confidently produce.
Social & Emotional Learning: In SEL, students will continue exploring how gender norms and stereotypes can influence people’s behaviours, choices and opportunities. They will develop strategies to challenge limiting stereotypes and promote respect, fairness and equality.
