Rotary Primary Schools Speech Competition

MECS once again hosted the Rotary Primary Schools Speech Competition in our Theatrette.
Did you know, public speaking is listed in the top 5 fears? And our students just love this extra-curricula opportunity, alongside a second, 'in-house' MECS Speech Competition.
This year, Seth N and Ellis F ably represented our school.
Seth was given a glowing review by the Toastmaster for his speech, 'How The Lyrics In Songs Can Impact You.' Seth created such a sense of calm, with the audience listening intently to every word. Seth will now enter the MECS Competition in August.
Ellis was placed second out of 12 students from participating schools with his speech, 'If I Could Talk to the Animals.' Ellis included humour, alliteration, and rhythmic prose. He received a gift voucher and will now go into the Rotary Grand Final in November.
We're looking forward to our next round of public speaking, especially after visiting Parliament House this term, we think our students could give our politicians a few lessons!
