Year 10 Life Skills Excursion

What does an organisation called Pinchapoo do?

Last Wednesday 5 August we visited Pinchapoo to take a look at all of the work that they do with distributing hygiene products. We found out about how Pinchapoo was founded and who they give their products to such as hospitals, schools, homeless shelters and many other places. We talked to Felix and he taught us that Pinchapoo supports many different people in different places in life, from people who don't have a home, to those who are struggling financially, to every day people. We learned that anyone can help by donating products or their time to the cause. It was a really valuable experience and gave us a new perspective in the lives and challenges of other people.

Last week in Life Skills, we went on an excursion to Pinchapoo. This is an organisation that collect donations of hygiene products and distribute them to people in need, this could be anyone from homeless people to families who can't pay for soap one month. It was really awe inspiring to hear about how there are people who just volunteer to create these kits for people who need them. When we arrived, one of the members Felix, showed us around and told us the story of Pinchapoo. A lot of the stuff they did was kind of crazy. One time they broke two world records in one day. The most amazing part is even though they are doing all these amazing and crazy things, they still cause such a difference for people who need basic hygiene products, the things we just take for granted. This experience with Pinchapoo was really eye opening, it gave us a new perspective of the world and taught us to really appreciate that we have access to basic hygiene products.
