Premier's VCE Awards

Last month I had the pleasure of joining Amy Porter at the Premier’s VCE Awards. Held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, this event recognised the outstanding achievement of the students in the Victorian Certificate of Education for 2023. Awards were presented to the Top All-Round VCE High Achievers, Outstanding VCE Vocational Major Students, Top International Students and Individual Study Recipients.

We were invited to this event to celebrate the success of our 2023 Dux, Amelia Spenceley, who achieved the perfect score of 50 in her study of Sociology. In her message to the students Hon. Jacinta Allan MP, Premier of Victoria acknowledged the ‘families, teachers and school communities who’ve supported you to be your best’. Amelia’s proud parents were ‘thrilled’ to attend this ceremony and expressed much gratitude at the support and encouragement Amelia received throughout her six years at Sandringham College.  As her teachers in 2023, Liam Small and I admired Amelia’s work ethic, tenacity and thirst for knowledge which has continued in her university studies as profiled in our last newsletter.
