CSEN Cross Country Championships
Secondary Cross country
On the 25th of July, the Secondary cross-country team went to Bundoora Park to participate in the CSEN Cross Country Championships. Despite the rainy weather, and muddy course, the day was filled with laughter and accomplishments. Amongst these, we had:
In the Under 13s, Reuben Cerbus came first across all divisions, and Gabrielle Thompson first in B Division. Gabrielle had the quickest 3km time from the Christway girls at 13 minutes and 38 seconds. In the Under 14 and 15 boys, Daniel Webster and Coby Carter both came second in B Division. For the Under 15 girls, Sveta Riordan came second in B Division. In the Under 16 boys, Gideon Fisher came first in B division, with the fastest time from Christway for the 4km, at 14 minutes and 22 seconds.
This year was one of the biggest teams we have had recently, with almost each age group filling out an entire team. It was this increased participation that drove our school to win B Division! With the age groups of under 16s, under 15 boys, and under 13 girls becoming age group champions of B division.
Thank you to Mrs. Wan and Mr. Simmons for organizing the early morning trainings, along with every teacher who showed their support either on the day or at the trainings.

Primary Cross Country
After weeks of early morning training sessions, the day finally arrived for the CSEN Cross-Country Competition! On our arrival, we were able to cheer on some of the Secondary athletes as they passed us on the track. Later on, it was our turn and we began excitedly warming up (which was rather necessary in the cold and wet weather). The U13s were the first to run and successfully navigated a sometimes muddy and slippery course. The U11s and U9s followed, conquering a few hills along the way (which for some felt like Mount Everest!). We ended the day tired, but proud of ourselves for persevering. It was a great day overall.
